TeenTech returns to Hampshire Summer 2015
After a resoundingly successful TeenTech event in 2014, the initiative that inspires teenagers to consider careers in Science, Technology and Engineering will be returning to Basingstoke on June 11th 2015, drawing in 300 students from across the county for a day that will change hearts and minds. Last year’s event involved over 120 leading scientists, engineers and technologists from global, regional and start-up companies who brought their leading edge technology to show young people how they can be part of this world. From robotics to broadcast technology, precision engineering to world class scientific research, the 2015 event will showcase the range of opportunities in a fast changing STEM career landscape.
TeenTech Hampshire is a collaborative event, led by educational charity, Basingstoke Consortium in partnership with TeenTech CIC and would not be possible without the energy and commitment of sponsors and contributors who make this such a powerful day.
Your business can make a difference by:
- Encouraging young people to consider STEM subjects
- Showing what it means to work for your company and the skills you need from future employees
- Giving students and teachers first-hand information on career paths in your sector
- Letting your staff act as inspirational role models
- Changing the stereotypical perception of STEM careers being “difficult”, “geeky” or “boring”
